Poppet documentation
Poppet runs on your computer and uses your chosen model provider. Follow the setup guide to send your first message, then pick a guide below for what you want to do next.
Start here#
- Get started to install Poppet, connect a provider, and send a message.
- Use chat to hold a conversation, resume a session, and find earlier answers.
Terminal chat works without a background worker. For setup problems, see troubleshooting. To look up a command, use the command reference.
Use Poppet#
- Notes: find, read, and save files in a directory you choose.
- Memory: keep preferences and facts you ask Poppet to save.
- Projects: save instructions, facts, and a list of notes for related chats and tasks.
- Skills: select a reusable procedure for a chat or task.
Schedule work#
- Scheduled tasks: schedule a prompt and manage its next run.
- Monitoring: check a source regularly and report changes to a specific value.
- Worker: keep scheduling and messaging running, in a terminal or at macOS login.
Connect services#
- Messaging: choose Discord, Telegram, or WhatsApp and connect your account.
- Read and search the web: summarize a public page or enable optional web search with Brave or Kagi.
- Browser automation: read rendered websites and request specific interactions.
